Come join the Repeal Coalition for a Freedom Summer Camp! Come learn about ethnic studies, anti-immigrant politics in Arizona, and how to start an ethnic studies program at your school!
The mission of the Repeal Coalition's 2011 Freedom Summer Campaign is to train up to 40 students from 8-12 different middle and high schools in Flagstaff and Phoenix on how to develop and implement a grassroots organizing campaign to demand ethnic studies program at their schools. Pariticipants will learn about what ethnic studies is and why it's important, the political and economic forces that want to ban ethnic studies, and about grassroots organizing and how to do it.
When: The Freedom Summer will be held from July 18th to August 12, 2011, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Cost: Free to participate.
